Our
Courses All our courses feature teaching groups that are small and therefore flexible,
with a lively informal atmosphere. Tuition for specialist courses takes place
in the indoor studio, with ample opportunity for work outside for those choosing
landscapes and farm scenes as subject matter. Painting holidays are based
at Claveys Farm using the Barn Studio with trips to local painting subjects
including beautiful landscapes and historic buildings. Tuition and excursions
occur between 10am and 4.30pm with evenings left free. Both studios will be
available for anyone wishing to continue working, however there is a large
comfortable sitting room for student's sole use not to mention a very good
pub 10 minutes walk away in the village! There is also an extensive Art library
made available to students, with a particular emphasis on the Classical Greek
& Roman, Byzantine, Medieval, Renaissance and Flemish periods.

the Centro Verrocchio at Casole D'Elsa in Italy as well as privately here
in England . Leda Channer is our course administrator and resident cook, having
cooked in many restaurants and directors dining rooms in London. She is also
a Fine Artist specialising in drawing and collage. Tom

painting techniques. Barbette Saunders
is a painter in egg tempera, a guilder and specialises in botanical painting.
Our courses include breakfast, lunch and supper making much use of our own
meat, eggs, vegetables and home made bread, jams and cakes. Supper at the
Talbot, the village pub, on the last night is also included. Accommodation
is in the farmhouse and consists of spacious double, twin or single rooms,
with two bathrooms for students use. All rooms have sunny views of the garden
at the front of the house and are comfortable and characterful. Where numbers
exceed space at Claveys we have accommodation in the village.
We aim to tailor our courses to fit you where ever possible. We have a thoroughly
flexible attitude and are keen to hear any suggestions as to the direction
you wish your course or holiday to take. All suggestions are put forward at
the beginning of the course allowing the group to decide. We also aim to tailor
our food too, so please inform us of any dietary requirements beforehand.
Vegetarians and vegans happily catered for. We do regret however that due
to the nature of the C18 farmhouse that wheelchair access is restricted.
